Things learned from a new apartment thusfar

I miss my roommate already.

I don't know how a gas oven works and am somewhat afraid I will blow myself up trying to use it. The range is easy. The oven either doesn't work or I don't know how it works, I am not willing to leave it on in a "wait-and-see" strategy because I don't want to asphyxiate or die in an explosion.

If I die of explosion it will be somewhat like being written out of a soap opera. "What?! Max fell down an elevator shaft?" It could happen.

Also, old people want to give you all their shit because they don't want it cluttering up the place. Some of it is useful but a lot of it isn't, goddamn old people passing their clutter burden on! I asked my dad for one specific rug he had in storage and he gave it to me... with another rug with a rat's nest in it!

That bastard. Now I have two filthy rugs, no idea how to wash them and either the rat has already found a new hiding place or it's long gone because it took me a day to unroll the carpet.

I miss my roommate so much. I know I bitched... whatever. But, I've never lived alone, and even if I never do again I think I can use it as a time to develop certain discipline in myself like washing dishes before they all get used.

When you consider the colors and black ratios, a plasma TV is a way better investment than most computer monitors or other contemporary televisions.
