New Coat
I've been wanting to look like less of a nerd who sits in an office dieing all day long.
I have been making the mistake of dressing like a programmer, in no way in particular really... just simple, just blah. I have a red dickies hoody and one of my officemates (sits three feet from me) has a black dickies hoody. I've neglected my overtly ounterculture wardrobe the past couple years, wearing too much taupe and too many plain t-shirts.
Plain, plain plain. That's not my way. That's not even representative of my non-clothing lifestyle. I needed to begin some realignment.
So I went on a search for a sweet leather jacket. I got this (well, this shot is shitty since it was dark and my flash is atrocious AND this is a "after" picture...):

It was $4 at the goodwill bins. I immediately added a Subgenius button to it.
Originally it had these shitty boring buttons, but one was broken on the sleeve and there was no replacement stitched inside:

So I spent a day scouring SE Portland and rounded up a full enough set of some Soviet era buttons and replaced the old shitty ones:

These set me back about 6 hours and $4;
To round things out, I bought a pair of black paratrooper boots.
It's like I'm dressed in the uniform of authority, minus trying to get anyone to do anything in particular. O, message in style, O.
